How recovery works here

Your recovery, step by step

Rehab isn't a quick fix, and we won't pretend it is. Here's what the road usually looks like.

  1. 1

    Assessment

A 75 to 90-minute first session to understand your condition, test strength, movement and balance, and hear what you want back.

  2. 2

    Goals you agree to

Two or three measurable goals, like walking 100 metres unaided or lifting your grandchild, with a realistic timeframe.

  3. 3

    Therapy and homework

Clinic sessions two or three times a week, plus a home exercise plan. What you do between visits matters as much as the sessions.

  4. 4

    Review and step down

Every six weeks we measure progress against your goals, adjust the plan and reduce sessions as you become more independent.

Patient story
Three weeks after my stroke I couldn't stand without two people holding me. Amber Hill never promised me miracles. They promised me work, and they were right about that. Five months on, I walk to the junction and back with a stick, and I button my own shirts again.
