Stroke & neurological rehab

Typically 3 - 9 months

Rehab after stroke, head injury, spinal cord injury, Parkinson's disease or Guillain-Barré syndrome, led by a neuro physiotherapist with OT and speech therapy alongside. The biggest gains often come in the first few months, so we aim to start as soon as your doctor clears you.

  • Sitting balance, standing and walking practice
  • Arm and hand retraining
  • Fall prevention and safe transfers
  • Training for family carers

Orthopaedic & post-surgery rehab

Typically 6 - 16 weeks

We follow your surgeon's protocol after knee or hip replacement, fracture fixation, spine surgery or ligament repair, and send them written progress notes.

  • Knee and hip replacement rehab
  • Fracture rehab after cast removal
  • Shoulder and rotator cuff repair
  • Back and neck rehab after surgery

Sports injury rehab

Typically 2 - 12 weeks, ACL 9 - 12 months

For footballers, runners, gym regulars and weekend players. The Plateau hills are great for training but unforgiving on tired legs, so we treat the injury and the reason it happened.

  • Ankle sprains and hamstring strains
  • ACL and meniscus rehab
  • Knee, Achilles and shoulder tendon problems
  • Return-to-sport testing

Chronic pain programme

8-week programme

For pain lasting more than three months, especially lower back, neck and knee arthritis. Cold Jos mornings can make stiff joints feel worse, so we teach you how to warm up, pace yourself and keep moving.

  • Graded exercise you can do at home
  • Pain education in plain language
  • Hands-on therapy where it helps
  • Small-group back and knee classes

Occupational therapy

Alongside any programme

Our occupational therapist helps you manage daily tasks again, from washing, dressing and cooking to writing and going back to work, including changes that make your home safer.

  • Daily living skills practice
  • Hand and fine-motor therapy
  • Home safety visits and equipment advice
  • Return-to-work planning

Speech & swallowing therapy

Usually alongside neuro rehab

Our speech and language therapist works on speech, understanding, reading and swallowing after stroke or brain injury, and coaches families on how to communicate in the meantime.

  • Aphasia and word-finding therapy
  • Exercises for slurred speech
  • Swallowing assessment and safe-eating advice
  • Communication aids and family coaching

The real progress happens between sessions

You might spend two or three hours a week with us. That leaves more than 160 hours when your recovery is in your own hands. So every patient leaves with a printed home exercise plan, and a short video of each exercise sent to their WhatsApp.

Plans are simple on purpose: a few exercises done well, with the number of repetitions and a way to track them. When something gets easy, we make it harder. When it hurts in the wrong way, we change it.

  • Printed plan plus exercise videos on WhatsApp
  • Weekly tick-sheet to bring to each session
  • Exercises adapted for small rooms and stairs
  • Family members shown how to help safely
